A million years ago I took the standard post graduation 2 month backpacking trip around Europe with two close friends. The trip came with the standard ups and downs of traveling with friends, not having enough money and drinking too much wine but it did do two things.
- First, it awakened my unacknowledged love of travel.
- Second, it gave me a taste of the fun of taking a photo you really really like.
This was the first photo I took that I really liked. I was in Venice when it suddenly started to rain. I ran up some stairs and ducked in a doorway to stay dry when I saw the umbrella approaching and raced to get my camera out. This was before automatic everything cameras, you kids today don't know how good you have it, and the exposure was way off but it still kind of works with the rest of the photo.
