Umbrella Woman In Venice

A million years ago I took the standard post graduation 2 month backpacking trip around Europe with two close friends. The trip came with the standard ups and downs of traveling with friends, not having enough money and drinking too much wine but it did do two things.

  • First, it awakened my unacknowledged love of travel.
  • Second, it gave me a taste of the fun of taking a photo you really really like.

This was the first photo I took that I really liked. I was in Venice when it suddenly started to rain. I ran up some stairs and ducked in a doorway to stay dry when I saw the umbrella approaching and raced to get my camera out. This was before automatic everything cameras, you kids today don't know how good you have it, and the exposure was way off but it still kind of works with the rest of the photo.

Girls with Kites

I stopped to take photos of the field and ended up with some shots of these little girls flying kites.

I remember her - num 1

Part of a series based on fragments of memories. We all know people who we remember mainly based on a fragment. Maybe a walk, a smell, just a smile or something.

I remember her - num 2

3 On A Scooter

Three women riding on a scooter in Colombia. Not the most amazing but the best shot I got. I like how the one girl is looking right at the camera.

Andy Reclining

Andy when he was just a kid. At one of his favorite playgrounds pretending to lounge around.

Child Sleeping In Doorway

This one looks sad because it is. A child sleeping in a doorway in Colombia.

Cuban Wedding

A wedding I stumbled upon while in Havana, Cuba.

Fishermen

Fishermen hauling in what turned out to be a disappointing catch in Colombia.

Boy In Fountain

It looks sad but its just a kid playing in a fountain in Chicago. Its the coolest fountain I've ever seen. Complete with a video display of people spitting water.
